WINGS OF HOPE was born during an author retreat in June of 2013. The seven of us began discussing how eBooks are changing the landscape of publishing, and from there our thoughts turned to writing our own eBook. We decided to write a set of novellas (short novels) and connect them with a common object. The ideas began to fly! We came up with a plot involving a patchwork quilt that would be handed down through the generations.

Due to Kim’s contract with another publisher, she wasn’t able to write a story for the project, which left a hole in the overall plan. Enter a “pinch author,” Kim’s father, Dr. Ralph Vogel, educator and historian and aspiring writer. Now we had our team.

The next issue was choosing a publisher. Well, why not form our own publishing group and set our own schedules? The name, WINGS OF HOPE, springs from our desire to write stories that show the hope a relationship with God brings to human hearts. We pray our stories will wing the readers to a place of entertainment and edification.

Our first novella set, titled Threads of Time, released in February 2014 and debuted on Amazon at #2 in Christian Historical Romantic Fiction. Our goal is to release a novella set each February and also make single titles in both fiction and non-fiction available.

The WINGS OF HOPE Publishing Team includes Jalana Franklin, Eileen Key, Kristian Libel, Kim Vogel Sawyer (CEO), Connie Stevens, Marjorie Vawter, Ralph Vogel, and Darlene Wells.
